People like this gain my respect, money hungry politicians who are easily paid off like Mitt Romney are not. Our ancestors had it wrong, it’s not respect your elders, it’s respect your elders that deserve your respect. Can you say that the younger generations should respect you? Ray Lewis can.

This is what happened and is still happening in downtown Athens. While the government is voting for our almost inevitable demise, there’s a war going on outside. I don’t think I’ve been more scared in my life. That feeling you get when you hear the boots of the cops coming nearer and nearer to you, with the chemicals lingering in the air rendering you unable to breathe or see clearly, with people screaming and trying to run away so that they don’t get tear-gassed or assaulted by them, seeing old people trying to find cover somewhere where they won’t get stomped on, rushing to the side of the road hoping that you won’t look “suspicious” enough for their standards and praying to avoid any kind of confrontation with them is nothing like I’ve ever felt.

I felt truly violated in my own city but the people who are getting paid to supposedly keep ME safe. And then, so many buildings in Athens are getting burned down by the same fucking criminals who cause problems in every single protest. The citizens are NOT the ones destroying the city. There were parents with their kids, old people, young people, all of them protesting peacefully, however that didn’t stop the cops sending some of them to the hospital. I don’t know how many people the media report that have gathered today but if it was one million I would not be surprised at all.

This is just the beginning.

This is an interesting tactic.

They did the same thing in 2008 and again in 2010, as well as capturing a bunch of firetrucks and drive them through police lines in Athens while shouting anti police slogans over the two way radios.

One Does Not Simply Protest ACTA of the Day: Gandalf spotted at today’s anti-ACTA protest in Cologne — one of many taking place around Germany.
The German government yesterday announced that it had reservations about signing the controversial copyright enforcement legislation, and would not make a decision until after the European Parliament voted on the treaty.
ACTA must be approved by all EU member states in order to take effect.

It’s working in Germany. Keep the front lines up all over the world.
